Rays Of Hope For Women In Ozuboko Community As Rotary Club Of Abuloma Donates Complete Oxygen Cylinders, Scales Etc

As part of activities to mark Rotary 2024  Maternal and child healthcare Month projects, The Rotary club Of Port harcourt Abuloma in partnership with Philanthropist Chukwuemeka Madukaejiaka has distributed essential medical equipments to  to model Primary health care center Ozuboko in port harcourt city local government area.

Speaking shortly after sensitizing pregnant and lactating mothers at the healthcenter The president of Rotary club of  Abuloma, Rotarian Ngozi Madukaejiaka highlighted on the importance of regular health checks and overall well-being for maternal and child care.

She said the donation which was made possible by Chukwuemeka Madukaejiaka as part of Rotary International efforts to ensure that healthcare is accessible to women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. “This complete Oxygen intervention is part of the strategies of the Rotary Foundation to improve Maternal and Child Health towards the delivery of high impact and cost efficient interventions to women and children, and also prove access to free healthcare made available by donations from kind hearted Rotary member of RC PHC Abuloma and partners to ensure no one is left behind due to lack of money”

President Ngozi Madukaejiaka  Call on mothers, fathers, guardians, relatives and caregivers to avail themselves, their children and wards of these opportunities of this total health care for pregnant women and nursing mothers to patronize the Ozuboko Primary Healthcare facility for access to complete Oxygen during emergencies and other health care examinations and interventions

For his part The Project Chairman For Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Abuloma. FRIDAY EGUAOJE said the health kits donation will assist health workers to ensure the success Rotary interventions in addressing the underlying risk factors for poor health among mothers and infants, with a prevention-first approach that focuses on early intervention to ensure healthy pregnancies, safe deliveries, and thriving babies.

He explained that  with Complete Oxygen donation will tackle multi sectoral response to the challenges of morbidity and mortality of women and  promote a dramatic reduction in the national maternal mortality ratio. and thanked various donor, club members for the willingness for volunteering  both Time and resources

While Receiving the donated Items on behalf of the Ozuboko Primary Health care center, Resident doctor in charge of the facility, Dr. Flag Amachree Thanked the President and members of Rotary club of PHC Abuloma for the kind gesture, she said each item donated will be utilized efficiently in line with  MNCHW interventions which include birth registration, immunization, nutritional assessment, vitamin A supplementation, deworming and growth monitoring.  she expressed joy over the additional big donation of complete oxygen, ‘Honestly I am very happy, Oxygen is very expensive even in our tertiary hospitals,so this will enable us to attend to some emergencies, administer first aid care for patient needing it, at least stabilize the patient before any referral, so its huge for our health center to begin to boost of modern equipments for total healthcare
