Rivers Operation Zero Crime Initiative Flag-Off Suffers Set Back Over Death Of DPO, SP Bako

The Rivers Operation Zero Crime Initiative which was billed to hold on September 14th to September 21st,2023 has been shifted to  2nd to   8th October,2023.

Briefing Journalists at Police headquarters, Moscow road, Portharcourt, Rivers State Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Olugbenga Adepoju said the change in date was due to the fact that the Police is in mourning mood as a result of the killing of SP Bako Amgbashim

DCP Adepoju apologized to the public and the organizers for the inconveniences they may suffer as a result of the change in date.

DCP Adepoju also disclosed that some persons have been arrested in connection with  the killing of SP Bako.

in her response, the Coordinator of Rivers Zero Crime Initiative Kate Ezeigbo who came with her team expressed condolence   to the family of SP Bako and the entire Police Command for  the loss.

Ezeigbo noted that the agreement for shift of date  is in respect to a man(SP Bako) who served the country well.

A minute silent was also observed for SP Bako.
