Tension in Rivers Community As Suspected Loyalists To Notorious Cultist 2Baba Kill Ex-Youth Leader In Ahoada East

Tragedy struck in Odhiaje community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State when suspected Iceland cultists said to be loyal to infamous late cult leader,David Gift aka 2Baba shot and killed a former Youth leader, Godspower Uwhetu in Odhiaje community, Ahoada East on Wednesday morning.

We learnt that the suspected cultists numbering about five led by one Sam invaded the Youth leader’s house about 1 am on Wednesday, brought him out and shot him dead in front of his house before they fled.

In an interview with Journalists, Hector Chinem Ekeakita, Former Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Youth Congress said

“This morning we woke up to hear that a former Youth leader of Odhiaje by name Godspower Uwhetu was killed by one Sam.

“Earlier before the incident, mother of Sam held Uwhetu on his clothe,accusing him(Uwhetu) of calling soldiers to raid the house of his Son(Sam) that his Son, Sam is innocent.

“Since that day, Uwhetu has being on the run. Uwhetu also told his friends that if anything happens to him, Sam should be held responsible .

“Only for us to wake up this morning to notice that Uwhetu has been murdered. This same Sam, is one of the 2Baba’s loyalist who escaped death when security agency attacked their base.

“The people of Igbu Akoh kingdom is still having shocking news of gunshots on daily basis .Last week in odieke-Akoh community, some peoples property were vandalized, their solar light vandalized. We are calling on the Sole Administrator and also the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Air force, the IGP and Army residing in Ahoada to swing into action before something get out of hand.

“This is how it started before my people started crying and innocent people dieing on daily basis.

“So, we are calling on security network in Ahoada to beef up security. we are calling on the Police, JTF and the LGA Administrator to fish the boys out who does not want to give peace a chance in Ekpeye land” Mr Hector said.

The Rivers State Police Command was yet to respond to enquiry by our reporter as at press time.
