The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to a social media user who shared a picture of the commission’s headquarters in Abuja as a hotel up for sale.
In a post on X, the Nigerian with the username @osere_x, listed the commission’s property as a “hotel” in the nation’s capital city of Abuja, with a price tag of N800 million, with an additional N120 million in agent fees.
“HOTEL AVAILABLE. Location: Abuja. Price – 800M. Agent fee – 120M. Only serious buyers should DM,” @osere_x, a verified user on the social media platform, wrote.As of the time of writing this report, the post had garnered 902 reposts, 525 responses, over six thousand likes, and 447.9k views as of 10am on Tuesday, February 10.
Joining the list of responses to the post, the anti-graft agency, through its verified account, replied, Hmmm…. You get mind ooo,” the anti-graft agency replied under the now viral post.”
The response generated thousands of reactions as well and further amplified the discourse.
Shortly after, the original poster responded to the EFCC with a follow-up comment written in Pidgin English.
“Na una building? I even think say na kfc,” he wrote, an apparent reference to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), an international fast-food chain.
