2024 NPF Servicom Week: Strengthening Partnership Between The Police, Community

The Rivers State Police Command joined forces with the Nigeria Police Force to commemorate the 2024 NPF Servicom Week, with the theme “Partnering for Safer Society”. The week long celebration, is aimed to strengthen Community- Police Relations and promote collaborative efforts towards maintaining law and order.

The Command’s Servicom Week festivities kicked off with a colourful ceremony at the Police Officers’ Mess in Old GRA, Port-Harcourt. Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, psc emphasized the importance of Community engagement and partnerships in crime prevention.

During the week, Police Officers engaged in various community outreach programs including:

1 Town Hall Meetings: Interactive sessions with residents, traditional rulers, vigilante groups and other stakeholders to discuss security concerns and proffer solutions.

2 School Visits: Police Officers visited schools, sensitizing students on crime prevention, safety tips and the role of the Police in maintaining law and order.

The sensitization lecture was a significant milestone towards enhancing community policing and promoting effective service delivery and community safety.

The celebrations concluded with a closing ceremony where CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, psc reiterated the Command’s dedication to serving the people and ensuring a safer society.
