Abductee’s Aide Shot Dead, 2 Police Officers Chasing Kidnappers Injured As Kidnappers Whisked Victim Away At Obiri-Ikwerre Axis In Rivers State

No Fewer than three Police Officers sustained different degrees of injuries  when they were chasing suspected Kidnappers who abducted a yet to be identified man around Obiriikwere axis of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State on Monday afternoon.

Eyewitness account disclosed that the vehicle of the Police had summersaulted after the Kidnappers they were chasing opened fire on them which resulted to loss of control by the driver of the Police van.

The eyewitness stated that the Kidnappers fled the scene with their abductee while another Police patrol van came to the scene and conveyed the Injured officers and a man shot dead to an undisclosed hospital.

Reacting to the incident, SP Grace Iringe Koko told EastwestReporters that the Kidnappers shot dead the side of the abducted man.
She said no Police officer died but they sustained injuries and they have been taken to undisclosed hospital while the Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon has deployed tactical teams and ordered for unconditional release of the abducted man.
