Army Swiftly Respond To Distress Call, Rescues 10 Peace Mass Transit Passengers From Kidnappers In Kogi

Nigerian Army troops have rescued ten passengers who were abducted by kidnappers while travelling from Calabar to Abuja.

The incident occurred at Ogugu Community along Enugu-Kogi Road in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to a statement from Nigerian Army spokesman Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the troops responded to a distress call, mobilized quickly, and engaged the armed kidnappers in a firefight.

He said the kidnappers had intercepted a Peace Mass Transit bus, abducted the passengers, and taken them into the nearby Ette forest.

He stated that the determined efforts of the Nigerian Army led to the release of the hostages as the kidnappers were compelled to relinquish their victims.

He added that the successful rescue operation underscores the Nigerian military’s commitment to ensuring citizens’ safety and security.
