Dino Melaye Wins Kogi State PDP Governorship Primaries

Senator Dino Melaye has won the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primaries in Kogi State.

Melaye was declared the winner with 313 votes at the end of the primary by the returning officer. Idoko Ilonah won 124 votes while a former deputy governor of the state, Sunday Awoniyi came third with 77 votes and Musa Wada obtained 56 votes. He is to contest against Usman Ododo, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the election.

we gather that this is the first time in the history of the state that an Igala man will not be fling the ticket of any of the two mainstream political parties in the state.
