The Ebony state governors wife Mrs. Maudlin Nwifuru has escaped mob actions by whiskers at a one day working Visit to the Ezza North Local government area of Ebonyi State
\The political crisis rocking Ezza Council Area took a very dangerous turn on Monday, 29th April, 2024 as yet to be identified mob made attempts to attack the wife of the state governor, Maudlin Nwifuru in the area, just as she had visited other LGAs in the state to commission projects executed by Ebonyi State Community and Social Development Agency (EBCSDA) in different communities and inaugurate the BERWO LGA Committee members.
This is the same local government area where two members of the state executive council fought publicly during a political event
The penultimate event was allegedly disrupted by unidentified hoodlums (Name of the leader of the unidentified group withheld )
The Drama allegedly started when Mrs Nwifuru arrived Ebiaji the Council headquarters, some miscreants were on notice-me procession advancing the convoy of the First lady not minding the effort of the security details attached to her.
Eye witness alleged that the hoodlums revolted when the security personnel attached to the first Lady were trying to scare them away from attacking the first lady when the situation became unbearable.
The witness further alleged that even as the security operatives were shooting in the air the hoodlums were advancing towards Mrs Nwifuru’s convoy despite their efforts.
“The current show of shame left the first lady opt for safety as she was visibly seen scampering for security in one of the local governments considered closest to the capital city of the state”. As at the time of this report , it remained unclear on how the crises was managed by the LGA chairman and stakeholders of the area.
“Her Excellency may not have envisaged danger as she has been on similar assignment at the Council areas that are considered crisis prone . Otherwise Her Excellency would have requested for security beef up hours before her departure to Ebiaji the Council Headquarters”
Our reporter gathered that the incident made all including journalists to scamper for safety as gunshot rends the air.
All efforts by the council chairman, Moses Nome to make the first lady come back to the venue failed as she insisted on leaving the tensed atmosphere.
After so much plea, she came back to commission the projects after the security agents had dealt with the intruders and returned normalcy in the area.
