Exposed: Rivers Contractors Requesting Balance Payment For Road Project Completed In 2016

Despite commissioning the Ogbunabali internal roads, the immediate past administration owed the contractor a sum of N264,742,965.40 (Two Hundred and Sixty-Four Million, Seven Hundred and Forty-Two Thousand, Nine Hundred and Sixty-Five Naira Forty Kobo).

Similarly, the Ozuoba-Rumuosi and Rumuokparaeli road, completed on December 14th, 2016, still has an outstanding unpaid balance of N202,330,955.76 (Two Hundred and Two Million, Three Hundred and Thirty Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty-Five Naira Seventy-Six Kobo).

This confirms Gov. Sim Fubara’s statement during the commissioning of the Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo road that most of the projects commissioned during the last administration were not fully paid for.
