The Ahoada Police Division on Saturday 8, July,2023 raided den of cultists at Udebu community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State led by one ‘General’ Worldwide, We learnt.
We gathered that acting on credible intelligence, the DPO of Ahoada Police Division led other personnel to storm the camp.
Our source disclosed that the ‘General’ worldwide of the Greenland cult and his lieutenants escaped on sighting the Police.
We learnt that items such as motorcycle, generator, guns, ammunition, one locally fabricated pistol, military uniforms, cult insignias, assorted charms were recovered while the camp was destroyed by the Police.
In a related development, a gunman who went to rob a POS operator at new road Ahoada on Saturday 8, July,2023 was arrested by the Police while a revolver pistol was said to have been recovered from the suspect.
In response to enquiry by our reporter on the two incidents, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the raid of ‘General’ Worldwide camp and recovery of some exhibits. SP Koko added that investigation is ongoing.
SP Koko however, said she was yet to be briefed on reported arrest of the armed robber.
