Gunmen Kidnaps Benue Commissioner Of Information

Suspected Terrorist Have Reportedly Kidnapped The Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Matthew Abo,  in Zaki-Biam, headquarters of Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, North-Central Nigeria.

Although information of the incidence about the abduction by a yet-to-be-identified gunmen is still sketchy an eyewitnesses who spoke to AIT  live via telephone says that the abductors came on four motorcycles, ordered everyone in the house including the Commissioner ‘s wife and children to lie face down and took him away from his residence to an unknown destination on one of the motorcycles. The witnesses said the abductors compelled the Commissioner at gunpoint to sit behind the rider of one of the motorcycles while a gunman sandwiched him. The abduction took place after 8pm on Sunday, September 24.

Abo was sworn-in as a member of the Benue State Executive Council on August 29, 2023. He hails from Ukum Local Government Area which has been a major flashpoint of criminal activities with rampant killings and abductions in recent times.
