PDAPC Factions Defy Heavy Rain Protest Against Gov. Fubara Insistence On Conducting Sat. 5th Oct. LGA Polls

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have organized a Joint protest which kicked off at the PDP State Secretariat Complex along Aba Express way in Port Harcourt ahead of the Local Government election in Rivers State.

They are protesting that LGA Elections should not hold ON Saturday the 5th of October 2024 in rivers state, some of the protesters chanting various war songs, shouting n elections moved from the PDP secretariat to police headquarters where they handed over no election stand to Dep commissioner of police stating that an Abuja high court order stopped the election from going on.

They also threatened that they can’t guarantee orderliness if the election is allowed to go on Saturday

For his part the Defacto PDP Party chairman Mr Aaron Chukwuemeka who spoke to the DSS Boss  during the protest to the DSS office urge the DSS to ensure the election does not hold “according to the Abuja court order, so that for us not to cause violence in the state”

Recall that PDP Members had three months ago protested under the rain that the Governor should mandate RSIEC to conduct Local Government elections rather than appointing Caretaker Committee Chairmen. and that RSIEC should scheduled a date for the conduct of Local Government elections across the state and today again under the rain protesting against the conduct of the Local Government poll.
