At around 12pm, the busy former Mobil Traffic Light Area erupted in panic following the tragic incident.
Hon. Hunkamma Monday Odigwe, the Chair of Ika Northeast Local Government, and Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior led security agencies to mobilize firefighters.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said First Bank, and Access Bank in the town were also burnt in the inferno that occurred on Sunday.Public-spirited individuals also joined efforts to put out the inferno, which lasted more than three hours.
First Bank Agbor and Access Bank Agbor buildings were among those touched by the fire.
However, the identities of the casualties of the midday inferno were yet to be identified at the time of filing this report.
