Rivers Police Confirms Political Fight At Eliozu Community, Launch Investigation

The Rivers state police command says it has launch an investigation into what led to the attack the Eliozu Primary Health Care Center in Obio Akpor Local government area where a fractional speaker of the defunct Rivers State house of assembly allegedly Led some security operatives to halt the operation at Eliozu Health Centre early in the day

Reacting to the incident the state Police Public Relation  Officer Grace Iringe-Koko in a short text message said

”A distress call was received from the health center in the Eliozu community today, 24th July 2024, where supporters of two separate political factions were engaged in a fight.

The police responded by sending operatives to the scene to restore law and order. The police deployed anti-riot tactics, including the use of canisters, to disperse the crowds”.

“An investigation into the matter has been initiated”.

Recall that earlier in the day where some officials of Rivers State government had gone to carry out free medical outreach were chases away with teargas by  police on alleged directives of Martin Amaewhule.

The Police acting on orders from above chased aged men and women, old and young,  and blocking them from gaining access into the Health facility, at Eliozu Community healthcare center in Ohio Akpor LGA
