Uniport Student Suspected Of Murder, Organ Harvesting Remanded To Prison Custody

A Magistrate court in Port Harcourt has remanded  the 400 level student of University of Port Harcourt, Uniport DAMIAN OKOLIGWE who allegedly murdered his girlfriend Justina OTUENE a 300 level student of same  University to Port Harcourt maximum correctional center.

Recall that 24 years old Demian Okoligwe was parade by police authority in October for alleged murder and harvesting the organ of his girl friend, Justina Otuene aged 20 years old, student of biochemistry of University of Port Harcourt.

At the hearing on Monday the 13th of November, the prosecuting counsel brought an application of remand proceedings, praying the court to remand the defendant in prison custody.

The prosecuting counsel also  prayed the court to remit the case file to the accused to the office of DPP for advice.

The counsel for the Applicant, E T AKPAN and counsel for defendant O G NWEKE did not oppose to the application of the prosecuting officer

In her ruling the Senior Magistrate OBIAGERI ANUGBUM said due to the gravity of the offence  the defendant should be remanded to the correctional center and ordered that the case file be remitted to the office of DPP for legal advice.

The senior magistrate later adjourned the matter to 15th December 2023 for legal advise
